Original Abstract - August 2017
When I finished my copy of Hans Hofmann's "Elysium," one of the ladies in my class walked over and said, "Hmmmm, when I saw what you were planning to copy I thought there was no way you'd be able to pull that off .... I was wrong!"
That gave me a nice little boost of confidence, so I decided to go back to a work I started earlier this year after our trip to Santa Fe.
Here's the final work (36x48"):
This was my initial inspiration, and what follows is the progression:
Photo below was taken in March
And I finally went back to it in August:
Close ups of two sections:
Hanging in our dining room.
I learned SO much doing this painting! Super fun!
